Public Art Munich
Silvina Der Meguerditchian
Winner of the Public Art Munich SOLO 2027
We are thrilled to announce that Silvina Der Meguerditchian has been awarded the prestigious Public Art Munich SOLO 2027 international art competition. Selected by an advisory board of international art experts and city council members, Silvina will implement a major temporary art intervention in Munich in 2027.
Her project, “The Texture of Identity,” transforms urban space into a canvas for exploring identity, memory, and belonging. Through large-scale, participatory tapestries, the work will weave together the untold stories of the people of Munich, including migrants and refugees, integrating personal objects and memories shared in workshops at Munich’s cultural institutions. The finished tapestries will be installed on facades across the city, accompanied by public events and QR codes linking to the collected narratives.
“The Texture of Identity” is part of Public Art Munich, an initiative by the City of Munich’s Department of Arts and Culture, supporting innovative solo projects by local and international artists.
Stay tuned for updates on workshops, events, and the project’s progress.
